A “Criminally Underrated” Bike For Big Riders And Speed Demons
MEELOD has long made some of my favorite bikes–the dual motor, and battery DK300 Max still sits as one of my favorites. And at the top of MEELOD’s lineup sits this, the (incredibly catchy named) XT600DL.
The MEELOD XT600DL sounds incredible on paper: dual motors, 52V battery, 26×4” fat tires, full suspension, hydraulic brakes… and real 35–37 mph performance. In practice, it rides like someone took a mountain bike and a dirt bike, blended them, and hit “turbo.”
It’s large, it’s powerful, and somehow hardly anyone is talking about it. That’s a shame, because this thing absolutely rips—and has the size to match!

First Impressions
The XT600DL looks serious: a 6061 aluminum frame dressed in black with red accents, red rims, and a layout that screams purpose. The cockpit is tidy, the LCD display feels a tier above budget bikes, and the control scheme gives you quick toggles for dual/single/front/rear motor modes. There’s even a quirky thumb-button throttle—odd at first, but easy to modulate once you get rolling.
This isn’t a small machine. At 5’9″, I fit fine, but shorter riders may find the size to be a handful at low speed. Taller riders? You finally have room to breathe.
At first glance the XT600DL looks like no other e-bike i’ve seen–a breath of fresh air in todays market of copycat bike design.

Power & Speed (Where the Fun Lives)
Two motors rated 1200W peak each (front + rear) feed off a 52V 25Ah battery pack. Translation: punchy launches, authoritative mid-range, and honest high-30s top end on flat ground when conditions are right. Dual-motor mode is the star—you’ll wonder why single-motor e-bikes ever felt exciting.
Hill starts? It claws its way up. Off the line in loose dirt you can feel the front tire scuff for traction, but the pull is addictive. It’s faster than most “fast” fat-tire bikes, period.
I found the acceleration to be punchy, with a strong mid-range shove around the 25-30mph mark. Off the line you can burn the front tire, which you may want to limit if you don’t want to be buying tires every couple hundred miles!
Ride, Handling & Brakes
An inverted, compression-adjustable fork up front plus a rear coil shock (with a service port for tuning and dial to adjust compression) keep the chassis composed. It’s not dirt-bike plush, but for a bicycle chassis at these speeds it’s confidence-inspiring—especially once you stand and let the big tires work.
Speaking of tires, the XT600DL comes with knobby Chao Yang tires with Hippo Skin technology. I’ve found Chao Yang tires to be fine in general, I’ve only gotten one flat on them after thousands and thousands of miles. But it would have been nice to see the beautiful red wheels wrapped in some more premium rubber, especially at this bikes $2000+ price point.

- Not a great “pedal bike” despite the 7-speed
- Size/weight can be a handful for smaller riders
Everyday Usability
Quirks: Mid-mounted kickstand can interfere with pedaling when maneuvering the bike backward—annoying but fixable with a small adjustment.
Display & UI: Clear, bright, and with a neat color accent that shifts by PAS level.
Drive Modes: Instant switching between dual/single/front/rear motor is great for experimenting (front-only feels like FWD—fun but odd).
Pedaling: 7-speed Shimano is there, but call this what it is: a throttle-first machine. Pedaling works for passing cops or limping home, not for fitness.
Seat/Comfort: The seat is firm. For long rides, consider an upgrade or a seat pad.
Battery & Range
With a removable 52V / 25Ah (≈1,300 Wh) battery, you can expect ~28–35 miles of spirited mixed riding in dual-motor mode, more if you behave, less if you live pinned at WOT. The upside of a 52V system is it holds speed better as voltage sags, so the bike feels strong as you drain the battery.

Off-Road
It’s not a dirt bike, but light trails, packed dirt, construction lots—totally fair game. The chassis stays composed if you stand and float the bumps. Compared to smaller 20″ fat-tire bikes, the 26″ wheels steamroll chatter and feel more stable when you’re really moving.
Verdict: The Sleeper Hit
The MEELOD XT600DL is the rare big, fast fat-tire e-bike that backs up its look with real performance. It’s a sleeper—criminally underrated, overshadowed by flashier brands—but if you know, you know.
If you’re a taller rider, or you simply want dual-motor authority with a 52V backbone and brakes up to the task, this should be on your short list. It’s not perfect (seat, kickstand, tire noise), but it’s wildly capable, stable, and a blast to ride—like a sport wagon that embarrasses supercars at the stoplight.
