MIHOGO Air Max 750: Feather-Light Carbon Fiber Meets Commuter Practicality

Most e-bikes at the $1,600–$1,700 range aim for raw speed or fat-tire flash, but the MIHOGO Air Max 750 takes a different approach. With a full carbon fiber frame, dual batteries tucked neatly into the frame and seat post, and commuter-focused design, this bike feels more like a finely tuned road machine than a moped-style e-bike. It’s lightweight, practical, and sleek—but not without a few quirks.

Build and Frame

The Air Max’s biggest talking point is its T800 Japanese carbon fiber frame. At just 7 lbs for the bare frame, it’s less than two-thirds the weight of an aluminum equivalent. That translates into a full build of around 60 lbs with batteries installed—impressively light for a dual-battery e-bike.

The step-through design makes it accessible, while the integrated rear rack and fender set add daily commuter practicality. A hidden second battery sits inside the oversized seat post, a clever design that doesn’t compromise aesthetics. With both batteries combined, you get about 20Ah of capacity, more than enough for daily rides.

Lifting the Air Max into a truck, up stairs, or onto a rack feels easier than with most e-bikes in this class, thanks to both its low overall weight and built-in grab handle.

Ride Experience

On the road, the Air Max feels natural and comfortable. A torque sensor paired with the 750W rear hub motor makes pedaling feel smooth and intuitive—almost like a normal bike, just with a little extra muscle. It doesn’t rip your arms off with acceleration, but that’s not the point. This is a commuter-first e-bike built to encourage pedaling.

Top speed hovers around 25–27 mph with pedal assist, making it a capable Class 3 commuter. The front suspension fork softens bumps, but with no rear suspension and a stiff carbon frame, rough terrain will remind you quickly this isn’t an off-roader. On smooth city streets, however, the bike feels refined and efficient.

Range is excellent. In real-world tests, the dual batteries easily push 40+ miles of mixed riding, and even longer if you stick to lower assist modes.

The Good

  • Feather-Light Frame: Carbon fiber makes it easier to ride, lift, and transport.
  • Practical Design: Built-in rear rack, fenders, and commuter styling.
  • Dual Batteries: ~20Ah total gives real-world range over 40 miles.
  • Natural Pedal Feel: Torque sensor makes pedaling smooth and intuitive.
  • Premium Touches: Hydraulic brakes, color display, integrated lights.

The Not-So-Good

  • Janky App: Navigation and Bluetooth features are unreliable in our testing.
  • Charging Frustrations: Only one charger included, so you can’t charge both batteries simultaneously.
  • Rigid Ride: No rear suspension and stiff carbon frame make rough roads harsh.
  • Price vs. Power: Not the most powerful e-bike at this price point.

Verdict

The MIHOGO Air Max 750 is a commuter’s dream: light, sleek, and efficient with dual-battery practicality and a premium carbon fiber frame. It’s not designed to be the fastest or flashiest, but rather a reliable, elegant city bike that encourages you to pedal.

If you only look at the price of the MIHOGO Air Max, you’re missing the point. Not only is this a fantastic bike, but it is one of the cheapest, full size carbon fiber bikes you can buy. Add to that 2 large capacity batteries seamlessly integrated into the frame, and a surprising amount of power, and the MIHOGO is a perfect daily driver.

The wonky app and lack of a second charger are annoyances, but they don’t overshadow the Air Max’s strengths. For riders who value light weight, range, and everyday practicality, this is one of the most appealing carbon fiber e-bikes on the market.
