Qiolor Tiger RL Review: The E-Bike Straight Out of 1953

First Impressions: A Motorcycle Lookalike (Minus the Gas)

The Qiolor Tiger isn’t your ordinary E-Bike, In fact at first glance you might even mistake it for just a cool looking “acoustic” bike. The electronics are very well hidden, you might not even notice the “gas tank” is actually a battery!

When they say “What’s old is new”, it couldn’t be more true for the Tiger RL! Retro styling meets modern electrification. Is the Qiolor Tiger RL all looks and no performance? Lets test it and find out!

The Ride: Smooth Cruiser, Not a Speed Demon

Design & Styling: Eye-Catching in All the Right Ways

The Tiger RL’s cafe racer aesthetic is more than just a nod to the past—it’s a full embrace. A gas tank-shaped battery, vintage-style headlight, and classic moto frame geometry give it the silhouette of a vintage motorcycle. And the low standover height make it perfect for shorter riders to enjoy.

Eye-catching is an understatement for the paint on this bike, It’s truly brilliant in the bright sunlight. They also offer this bike in white if you want something a bit more subtle.

The battery design isn’t just for looks either. It houses a 48V 13.5Ah removable battery in a shell that resembles an old-school gas tank, adding to the bike’s overall authenticity. Little touches like integrated turn signals and a loud horn also make it feel more like a motorcycle than your average e-bike.

Performance: Built for the Cruise

Underneath its retro skin lies a 1200W peak hub motor that pushes the Tiger RL up to 28 mph. It’s no drag racer, but it cruises confidently and smoothly, with a gradual throttle response that’s great for beginners or casual commuters.

The 20″ x 4.0″ Chaoyang fat tires and hydraulic disc brakes give it a solid, grippy ride and strong stopping power. It’s a hardtail frame—so there’s no rear suspension—but the padded seat and chunky tires make light trail rides and city bumps a little more manageable.

Don’t be fooled by the knobby tires, this is a road bike. It can handle some leveled grass, but stay away from the rough stuff.

Comfort & Ride Quality

The upright riding position, ergonomic grips, and cushy seat give this bike a motorcycle-like riding experience. The lack of gears means you’ll mostly be using throttle or pedal assist at lower levels, which is fine, because this bike is about cool cruising, not hill bombing.

The frame geometry and wide bars provide great stability at speed, and the smooth power delivery makes it a pleasure to roll around town without jerky starts.

The front fork helps absorbs bumps, but unfortunately the lack of rear suspension means a bumpier ride, especially when off road or on rough pavement. Luckily the seat is fairly soft, and you can always air down the rear tire a bit for a softer ride.

Overall for this price point, we would have liked to see a soft tail setup as standard.

Price And Value

The Qiolor Tiger RL comes in at $1,599 on their website. This is for the model without the rear rack and saddle bags, which comes in at $1,837. At the time of writing, they do offer $200 off on their website with a coupon code.

Even at $1400, The Tiger RL certainly isn’t the cheapest bike, especially for it’s specifications. You can easily get a bike with double the battery capacity and even dual motors for around $1000.

But you certainly won’t get the amazing looks that the Tiger series offers. What you’re paying for here is the beautiful styling, amazing paint work, and well engineered chassis. This thing rides way smoother than any $1000 and under e-bike we’ve tested.

They also offer the Tiger Junior ($1,299) Tiger RE ($2,099) and Tiger Plus ($2,199-$2,499). You certainly have to pay to look this cool.

1. The Good: Why This Bike Stands Out

✅ Show-Stopping Design – That metallic orange paint is factory-level quality, and the fake gas tank is genius.

✅ Comfortable & Stable – The upright riding position and padded seat make it great for longer rides.

✅ Hydraulic Brakes – Strong stopping power.

✅ Fat Tires for Grip – Handles pavement and light trails with ease.

✅ Motorcycle Vibes – The horn, turn signals, and LED lights make it feel like a mini-moto.

2. The Not-So-Good: Trade-Offs for Style

❌ No Rear Suspension – Rough roads will rattle you.

❌ Sluggish Throttle Response – Takes a second to kick in (not ideal for quick traffic starts).

❌ Single-Speed Only – No gears = harder pedaling uphill.

❌ Smaller Battery than other bikes in this price point

Who’s It For?

✔ Style-Conscious Riders – If you want head-turning looks, this delivers.
✔ Urban Commuters – Perfect for city cruising and short trips.
✔ Casual Trail Explorers – Handles light off-road (but not hardcore dirt).

Not For:
❌ Off-Road Enthusiasts – No rear suspension = bumpy rides.
❌ Speed Demons – Throttle lags behind torquier e-bikes.
❌ Budget Shoppers – $1,399 is steep for the specs.

Final Verdict: A Stylish, Fun Cruiser

The Qiolor Tiger RL isn’t the fastest or most practical e-bike—but it’s one of the coolest. If you want motorcycle aesthetics with e-bike ease, this is a dream ride. But buy it for the style, not raw performance.
