HiKeep MA-S Review: White Hot Speed With Head Turning Looks

The “Storm Trooper”

It’s not every day you see an E-bike like this one. Most moped style bikes play it safe; a recycled design, black frame, and 20×4 tires. But the HiKeep MA-S switches it up with a unique all white style that draws you in before you even twist the throttle. And HiKeep claims its not just all looks either, it has a nearly 40mph top speed and huge battery. So does the new MA-S mean business? Lets find out!

First Impressions: Style for Days

One thing about the MA-S: It has presence unlike most E-Bikes. I have had more people compliment this bike than any other bike I’ve tested recently. The all white design is striking, and HiKeep really paid attention to the details. Not only is the frame white, so are the wheels, handlebars, forks, and even the seat and included storage bag.

This attention to detail is something unique to HiKeep. Most bikes feel slapped together, this one feels curated. Good luck keeping this thing clean though. It felt like wearing a pair of white Jordans to go hiking in the mud. Even after my test ride, the bike is filthy with mud. These stand out looks come with a cost: High maintenance. Make sure you have some quick detailer and a rag handy. They have a black version available if you don’t want to deal with the hassle of keeping a white bike clean.

The detail and uniqueness of this bike does come at a cost though: Your hard earned dollars. The white version commands a $100 premium over the black; $1799 and $1699 for the black. You can also take off $50 with code AC50 at checkout. Taking into consideration that this is a 52V bike with a high top speed, the price isn’t too bad. But it certainly isn’t a budget bike.

Power Reality Check (and Why It Still Feels Quick)

Hikeep advertises 4,000W peak at the motor, but do the math and you’ll see how that can be a bit misleading: a fully-charged 58.8V pack at 40A max discharge puts you around ~2,350W peak being able to be sent out to the motor. That’s no where near its claimed 4000W peak, or even 3000W nominal rating. Translation: the battery & controller are the bottleneck, not the motor. Even so, the MA-S is legit fast for a hub bike—more of a momentum machine than an off-the-line rocket.

Side Note: If you’re shopping for a bike and want to see what the actual wattage the motor and controller are capable of doing, Use this math: Wattage = Battery Voltage x the battery or controllers max discharge current (Amps). So in this case 58.8

Top speed: I was able to eek out a top speed of 38mph at a temp of around 40°F on a slight down hill. Realistically, unless you have a lot of long stretches of open road on your route, you can expect to be cruising at 33-35mph.

.

Pros

  • Show-stopping design (especially the all-white build)
  • Big 52V 40Ah battery with strong real-world range
  • Quick top-end for a hub-drive; stable at speed
  • Logan hydraulic brakes feel appropriately powerful
  • NFC convenience; responsive support from Hikeep

Cons

  • Front fork arrived seized; rear fender issue (both replaced quickly)
  • 4,000W claim is marketing; battery/controller cap the real output
  • Knobby tires are loud and vague on pavement
  • No turn signals; tall & hefty for smaller riders
  • White finish looks amazing… until mud season

Ride & Handling

Despite being a hard-charging hub bike, the MA-S rides comfortably when you let the big tires work. The rear suspension uses a multi-link layout with 4 shocks (more of a design choice than functional). The front fork is non-adjustable and, on our review unit, the forks were defective being completely seized up. HiKeep promptly sent out a new fork for us to replace. Good on HiKeep for resolving the issue, but theres no doubt it can be inconvenient to do a major replacement like the front forks your self, especially if you aren’t mechanically inclined.

On packed dirt and grass the chassis stays composed; on pavement those stock knobbies hum and dull steering feel. If you’re primarily a street rider, swap to road tread—the difference in confidence (and noise) is night and day.

Brakes are a highlight: Logan hydraulics clamping 203 mm rotors deliver strong, repeatable stops that feel appropriate for the bike’s mass and speed. The full-twist throttle response is clean, and the display/controls are straightforward. Lighting includes a bright moto-style headlight and a tail/brake light; no turn signals on this model.

Riding Position

The MA-S is a fairly tall bike, with the seat coming up to my hips (I’m 5’9″ 31 inch inseam), And i was barely able to get both feet on the ground. Shorter riders may have to look elsewhere.

Range & Charging

With 52V 40Ah (~2,080 Wh) on board, range is a selling point. Ride hard on throttle you’re still looking at 30–40 miles, and much more with mixed PAS and sane cruising speeds. The pack is removable and locks with a key.

Who It’s For

  • Riders who value design and presence as much as speed
  • Folks who want hub-motor simplicity with real top-end pace
  • Taller riders (or anyone who likes a high perch)
  • Street-first riders willing to swap to road tires for quieter, sharper handling

If you’re chasing mid-drive torque for steep hill launches or constant off-road hammering, look elsewhere; this one’s a stylish street ripper with trail-capable manners.

Verdict

The Hikeep MA-S is a head-turner that backs up the looks with genuine speed and big-battery endurance. It’s more “sporty street scrambler” than dirt bike, and it shines when you let it build speed and cruise. The couple early hiccups were real, but Hikeep’s fast replacements turned them into footnotes, not deal-breakers. If you want something unique that still rides hard, this is an easy bike to recommend—just budget for road tires if your playground is mostly asphalt.
