Amped Cycle Review
The Spark X1 is back in black, with the same 60V performance.
The QRONGE X1 Spark Black Edition is a small electric dirt bike with big performance, a 60V battery, 4500W (Claimed) peak mid-drive motor, strong hydraulic brakes, and an all-black look that makes it way cooler than the usual orange pit bike clones.
Overview
The QRONGE X1 Spark Black Edition is exactly what a lot of these mini electric dirt bikes needed: less orange, more attitude.
There are a ton of little electric pit bikes on the market right now, and a lot of them look almost identical. Orange plastics, tiny wheels, same general shape. The Spark X1 Black Edition fixes that by going full blacked-out: black plastics, black fenders, black number plate, black everything. It looks sick.
Underneath the styling, this is still a compact electric dirt bike with a 14-inch front wheel, 12-inch rear wheel, mid-drive motor, full suspension, hydraulic brakes, and a claimed 50 mph top speed. QRONGE lists the X1 Spark M with a 4500W peak mid-drive motor, 283 Nm of torque, 60V 28.8Ah battery, and 1728Wh battery capacity.
This is not a pedal e-bike. It’s an electric dirt bike / mini e-moto, and that matters. QRONGE also notes that public-road legality depends on local laws, so this is something to treat more like an off-road electric dirt bike than a normal Class 2 e-bike.

Performance: Motor and Speed
Performance is the main reason the X1 Spark exists.
QRONGE claims a 4500W peak mid-drive motor, 283 Nm of torque, and up to 50 mph. In the real-world test, the bike hit about 45 mph on GPS before it felt like the controller started pulling power back. That is still awesome for a compact electric dirt bike around this price range.
The acceleration is strong right away. A 0–30 mph test felt quick, and the bike gets off the line with a lot of torque. This is where these little mid-drive pit bikes shine. Top speed is cool, but the real fun is the low-end punch and the ability to just point the bike at a hill and go.
The Spark has three ride modes. In the test, mode 1 limited speed around 20 mph, mode 2 got up around the high-30s, and mode 3 unlocked the full top-speed run. QRONGE officially describes the modes as ECO, Sport, and Turbo, with Turbo listed at 50 mph, up to 21 miles, and the full 283 Nm torque output.
The important thing is that mode 1 still does not feel like it softens the bike into a little toy. It still has punch. It just caps the speed. So even in lower modes, throttle control matters.
Battery: Specs and Range
The X1 Spark uses a 60V 28.8Ah battery, which works out to 1728Wh of capacity. QRONGE claims up to 60 miles of range under ideal conditions, with actual range depending on terrain, mode, rider weight, and average speed.
In real-world riding, range is going to depend heavily on how hard the bike is ridden. Running around at 40–45 mph full throttle will drain it fast. Cruising around at 25–35 mph should stretch the battery much farther.
During the ride, the bike sagged pretty hard under full power, dropping down to around two bars briefly when really giving it the beans. After about 12 miles, it still showed around three out of five battery bars, which is decent considering how much hard riding was involved.
Realistic range expectations:
- 15–25 miles riding hard in high-power mode
- 25–35+ miles with mixed riding
- Higher numbers only with slower cruising and ECO mode
The battery size is solid for the class. The charger is listed as 67.2V 2.0A, so charging is not going to be super fast, but that is pretty normal on these bikes.

Comfort and Build Quality
The X1 Spark Black Edition feels like a proper little electric pit bike. It’s compact, quick to respond, and easy to throw around compared to a full-size electric dirt bike.
The suspension is one of the stronger parts of the bike. QRONGE lists 150mm front suspension and 75mm rear suspension, and off-road, the bike felt floaty and controlled over rough grass, bumps, and trail chatter.
The front suspension did bottom out hard enough to scrape the front fender during braking and rough hits, so that is something to watch. But overall, the suspension felt better than expected, especially considering the price.
The rear shock was also better than expected. A lot of these small e-motos use rear shocks that look like basic e-bike shocks and feel way too bouncy. This one felt more controlled, with damping that actually seemed slow enough to work off-road.
The brakes are excellent. QRONGE lists 200mm x 3mm DOT hydraulic brakes, and they feel strong enough to match the power. Under hard braking, the bike feels like it wants to throw weight over the front, which is exactly what strong brakes on a little dirt bike tend to do.
The seat is the weak spot. It has some cushion in the middle, but the back section is hard. For a smaller rider sitting more toward the middle, it should be more manageable. For a bigger rider sitting farther back, it gets uncomfortable after a few miles.
Other Unique Features
The biggest unique feature here is the Black Edition styling. That might sound superficial, but on a mini e-moto, looks matter. The all-black setup makes this bike stand out in a sea of orange pit bikes.
Other useful features include:
- Full twist throttle
- Key ignition
- Turn signals
- Horn
- Bright multi-mode headlight
- Tail/brake light
- Front number plate
- Knobby tires
- Three ride modes
- Hydraulic brakes
- Compact 14/12 wheel setup
The headlight is especially interesting. It has multiple modes, including yellow, white, and flashing modes. The horn also triggers flashing red lights through the headlight, which is a little weird.
The turn signals are a big win. A lot of entry-level electric dirt bikes skip basic street-friendly features like lights and signals, but at this point, there is really no excuse for not having them. QRONGE also offers a deluxe accessory package on the product page that includes items like a helmet, protective gear, lighting accessories, a phone mount, and more.
The full twist throttle feels right on a bike like this. Thumb throttles can work, but a full twist throttle fits the electric dirt bike personality way better.
Negatives
The seat is the biggest complaint. The bike is fun enough to ride for a while, but the seat starts to get old after 10+ miles. A replacement or upgraded seat would make a big difference.
The display is also hard to read during the day. Turning the headlight off helps a little, but in direct sunlight, it is still not great.
There was also noticeable voltage sag under hard acceleration. That is not unusual on a powerful 60V bike, but it is something to keep in mind. Full-throttle riding will pull the battery down quickly.
The bike is also small. QRONGE lists the rider height range at 4’0″ to 5’5″, and that makes sense for the 14/12 version. Taller riders can ride it, but it will feel cramped. QRONGE also makes a larger version with a bigger wheel setup, and that would probably be the better choice for anyone wanting more room.
The last downside is the same issue with most mini e-motos right now: legality. This is not a normal e-bike. It has no pedals and is built like a mini electric dirt bike. That means it may attract attention in places where e-motos are being targeted.

Amped Cons
What Could Be Better
- Seat gets uncomfortable after a few miles
- Display is hard to read in daylight
- Noticeable voltage sag under hard throttle

- Front suspension/fender can bottom or scrape under hard hits

- Black version costs more than the orange version
Final Thoughts
The QRONGE X1 Spark Black Edition is a really fun little e-moto. The power is there, the suspension is better than expected, the brakes are strong, and the blacked-out look gives it a personality that a lot of these mini pit bikes are missing.
The biggest reason to buy this version over the competition is the styling. There are a million little orange electric dirt bikes out there now, and the all-black Spark just looks better. It feels meaner, cleaner, and a little more grown-up.
Performance is also impressive. A real 45 mph GPS top speed on a small electric dirt bike around this price is crazy. The bike has more than enough torque for hills, grass, trails, and neighborhood riding. It is basically more than enough to terrorize the neighborhood — quietly, at least compared to the gas pit bikes everyone used to ride around as kids.
It is not perfect. The seat needs help, the display could be brighter, and taller riders may want the larger version. But for a compact 60V electric dirt bike with killer styling and legit performance, the QRONGE X1 Spark Black Edition is a strong option.
If the orange mini pit bike look is played out, this is the one that actually looks different..
