Jansno X50: A Budget-Friendly Bike That Gets You To Your Destination, Just Not In A Hurry

Basic Transportation That’s Stylish

The Jansno (Jan-Snow) X50 is one of the most affordable moped-style e-bikes on Amazon, priced at just under $800. It offers a mix of features that you see on much more expensive bikes, including turn signals, rear suspension, and a 750W motor, making it a solid option for urban commuting. However, it lacks power on hills and has some build-quality quirks.

Performance & Ride Experience

On paper the X50 boasts some basic performance features: The typical 750w motor (unsure of peak rating), basic cable brakes, CST BFT Knobby tires, And a 48v14Ah battery with “LG technology”.

If there was a picture of basic E-bike specs in the dictionary, this would be in it.

Speed & Acceleration

Overall, the performance is about what you would expect from a bike in this price range. The speed topped out to 29-30mph on a completely full battery, but quickly died down to 27-28mph for the rest of the ride. This bike is easy to unlock, there is a black and white cable that you can disconnect to unlock the top speed.

Braking

The brakes are Jansno branded cable brakes, with 160mm rotors in front and rear. Overall they are adequate for this bikes performance capabilities and average street riding. Intense downhill riding or frequent high speed stops would warrant an upgrade to hydraulic.

Style & Comfort

The reason you buy a moped style e-bike is because of the looks, and the Jansno X50 doesn’t disappoint. It’s a cool looking bike that stands out from every other black e-bike.

Comfort is about average. It’s nice to have full suspension, even though the front and rear shock are on the stiff side. You can easily and relatively cheaply upgrade the rear shock to something better, which I would do ASAP because my rear shock was making a squeaking sound that you can hear in our video review.

Riding position was comfortable with the swept back cruiser handle bars. There isn’t anywhere for foot pegs, so out of the box this is a 1 person bike. There also isn’t a built in space for a cargo rack, so if you need storage you might have to look elsewhere.

Pros:

✅ Affordable Price – At under $800, it’s a great entry-level e-bike.
✅ Comfortable Riding Position – Swept-back handlebars give a relaxed, cruiser-like feel.
✅ Useful Features – Turn signals, bright headlight, and a functional LCD display.
✅ Stable on Roads – Handles well on pavement, with decent stability at higher speeds.

Cons:

❌ Weak Hill Climbing – Lacks torque; struggles on inclines.
❌ Squeaky Suspension – Rear shock makes noise, especially off-road.
❌ Basic Brakes – Cable brakes work but fade under heavy use.
❌ Uncomfortable Pedaling – Wide seat makes pedaling awkward (mostly for legal compliance).
