Ausom GoSoul 2 Review — A Budget Dual-Motor Scooter That Actually Hits 36 MPH

Amped Cycle Review

Budget Dual Motor Scooter That Packs a Punch

Most scooters at this price offer you a single motor, and 28mph top speed, but this Ausom Gosoul 2 promises a top speed of 36MPH powered by 2 1400Watt motors. For just $849, is it too good to be true?

48V Dual Motors 36MPH Top Speed Affordable
Best For Road and light off-roading
Standout Strong yet manageable power
Watch Out If you need a scooter with tons of range and a higher voltage, look elsewhere

First Impressions

The GoSoul 2 looks like a pretty typical performance-style scooter, but with a few nice touches. It has blue deck LEDs, a bright headlight, a tail light, handlebar-mounted turn signals, and a folding stem that hooks onto the rear footrest for transport.

The Ausom Gosoul 2 weighs about 70 pounds, so calling it “portable” depends on how often leg day gets skipped. It technically folds, but carrying this thing upstairs still feels like a workout. That being said, 70 pounds is not crazy for a dual-motor scooter, especially one that can hit mid-30 mph speeds.

The deck has a plastic surface with grooves instead of real grip tape. It works fine in dry conditions, but I’d probably add grip tape if this was going to be a long-term scooter. It’s one of those cheap and easy upgrades that would make the whole scooter feel a little more secure.

Power and Speed

The GoSoul 2 uses dual 1400W motors, giving it 2800W of combined output. For an $849 scooter, that’s a lot of power.

The impressive part is that it actually delivers on its speed claim. In dual-motor mode, the scooter hit a true 36 mph on GPS. Not “36 on the display and 29 in real life.” A real 36. That matters, because plenty of scooters are a little optimistic once the phone GPS comes out.

Acceleration is strong, especially in dual-motor race mode. The front wheel can spin off the line, and it has enough pull to make launches feel exciting. But the power delivery is still smoother than expected. It eases into power instead of just dumping everything at once, which makes it feel more approachable than some of the crazier dual-motor scooters I’ve ridden.

That balance is what makes the GoSoul 2 work. It’s fast enough to be fun, but not so insane that every ride feels like a near-death experience.

Ride Quality and Handling

The GoSoul 2 has front and rear suspension, but this is still a scooter with 10-inch wheels, so expectations have to stay realistic. The suspension feels nice and springy, and on pavement it does a good job smoothing out normal bumps and cracks.

Off-road, it can handle grass, dirt, and light trail riding, but it’s not a true off-road scooter. The suspension travel is limited, and big dips or tree roots still hit hard. Standing up while riding rough terrain also turns into a leg workout pretty quickly. I’d call this a road-focused scooter that can handle some grass trails, not a scooter built for serious off-road riding.

On pavement, stability felt pretty good. It’s still a little twitchy because, again, 10-inch wheels, but there were no scary speed wobbles at higher speeds. I didn’t feel like it desperately needed a steering damper, which is a good sign for a scooter in this price range.

Brakes

The GoSoul 2 uses cable brakes, and that’s probably one of the biggest ways Ausom kept the price down.

The braking power felt adequate, even coming down from around 25 mph. On a scooter, cable brakes can get away with a little more than they would on a fast e-bike, but hydraulics would still be a nice upgrade long-term. Cable brakes mean more adjustment and more maintenance over time.

They worked fine during the test, but if this scooter was staying in my garage, hydraulic brakes would definitely be on the future upgrade list.

Battery and Range

The GoSoul 2 has a 48V 18Ah battery, and Ausom claims over 50 miles of range. Realistically, that claim only makes sense in single-motor mode at slow speeds.

In dual-motor mode, the scooter started sagging pretty noticeably after a few hard launches and off-road riding. After about 8 miles, the battery display was already dropping down more than I’d like to see if I were expecting 50 miles.

A more realistic range estimate would be:

  • 15–20 miles with aggressive dual-motor riding
  • 25–30 miles with calmer mixed riding
  • More than that only with slow single-motor use

That’s not terrible for the price, but the battery is definitely one of the main limitations.

Features

For the money, the feature list is solid:

  • Dual 1400W motors
  • 48V 18Ah battery
  • 36 mph tested GPS top speed
  • NFC unlock
  • Handlebar turn signals
  • Headlight and tail light
  • Blue deck LEDs
  • Foldable frame
  • Front and rear suspension
  • Trigger throttle
  • Three ride modes
  • Dual-motor toggle button

The turn signals are one of the better details because they sit high on the handlebars and can be seen from both sides. That’s a smarter setup than tiny signals buried low near the deck where nobody notices them.

The display, however, is not great in direct sunlight. It’s hard to read during the day, which gets annoying on a scooter this fast.

Amped Pros

What We Liked

  • Very strong value at around $849
  • Dual motors give it a lot more punch than single-motor scooters
  • Actually hits 36 mph on GPS
  • Power delivery is quick but still manageable
  • Turn signals are bright and mounted high
  • NFC unlock is a nice security touch
  • Suspension feels good on pavement
  • Stable enough at speed without feeling terrifying

Amped Cons

What Could Be Better

  • Cable brakes instead of hydraulic brakes
  • Battery range drops quickly with hard dual-motor riding
  • Display is hard to read in daylight
  • No grip tape on the deck from the factory
  • Not a true off-road scooter
  • 70 pounds is still heavy for carrying

Final Verdict

The Ausom GoSoul 2 is a really good budget dual-motor scooter. It feels like the single-motor Ausom scooters I’ve liked before, just with the extra power that was missing.

The best part is that it doesn’t feel totally unhinged. It has enough speed to be exciting, enough power to spin the front tire and rip around, but it still feels controlled. That makes it more usable than some of the crazier dual-motor scooters that are fast just for the sake of being fast.

The battery could be bigger, and hydraulic brakes would make the package much better. But for $849, this is a strong deal. For a relatively affordable dual-motor scooter from a brand I’ve had good experiences with, the GoSoul 2 is easy to recommend.
