Looks can be deceiving
The Hikeep 26M is a big, bright, unapologetic fat-tire e-bike with a claimed 40 mph top speed, a 48V 25Ah battery, full suspension, hydraulic brakes, and a massive 550 lb max load rating. It looks like a regular 26-inch fat-tire mountain bike at first, but once it gets moving, this thing is way quicker than expected.
Overview
Most e-bikes are trying to look smaller, sleeker, and more subtle. The Hikeep 26M is not doing that at all. This thing is a huge, bright green, 26×4 fat-tire bike with color-matched wheels, a rear rack, full suspension, and a claimed 550 lb payload capacity.
At first glance, it almost looks like a normal fat-tire mountain bike. A very bright one, sure, but still a regular-looking e-bike. Then the throttle gets twisted, and it becomes obvious that this is not just another basic 26-inch cruiser.
Hikeep officially lists the 26M with a 3000W peak motor, 48V 25Ah battery, 40 mph max speed, 220 N·m torque, full suspension, 26×4 fat tires, NFC/app features, and a current sale price of $1,399.

Performance: Motor and Speed
The biggest surprise with the Hikeep 26M is the speed.
Hikeep claims a 40 mph top speed, and in real-world riding, the bike got surprisingly close. GPS showed around 37–38 mph, while the built-in display was reading about 5–6 mph optimistic. That is still extremely impressive for a 48V single-motor fat-tire bike.
The power delivery is interesting. Off the line, it does not slam forward or feel crazy torquey. It eases into the power and builds speed gradually. This is definitely more of a momentum bike than a hard-launch bike.
Once it gets rolling, though, the top-end pull is strong. It will cruise in the low-to-mid 30s and eventually build toward that high-30s range with enough road. That makes it feel a lot faster than it looks.
Hikeep’s official specs list the rear hub as 2000W sustained / 3000W peak, with a 220 N·m torque claim. The speed is there, but the torque claim feels more questionable in real-world hill climbing.
Battery: Specs and Range
The 26M comes with a 48V 25Ah removable battery, which works out to about 1200Wh of capacity. Hikeep claims up to 110 miles of pedal-assist range and about 35 miles of throttle range in the official specs.
Real-world riding was much more reasonable. After about 16 miles, the bike still showed around three out of five battery bars, hovering somewhere around half to 60% battery. That is actually a strong result considering the ride included a lot of throttle and higher-speed riding.
A realistic range estimate would probably look something like this:
- 25–35 miles throttle-heavy
- 40+ miles with lighter riding and pedal assist
- Higher numbers only with slower speeds and conservative assist
For a fast 48V fat-tire bike, the battery setup feels solid. The 25Ah pack gives the bike enough capacity to actually use the speed without immediately panicking over range.

Comfort and Build Quality
The Hikeep 26M is a big bike. At 5’9″, it felt manageable, but definitely on the large side. The 26-inch wheels make the bike feel tall, substantial, and a little cumbersome when moving it around at low speed. Hikeep lists the recommended rider height at 5’5″ to 6’9″, and that feels believable, although the bike is probably going to feel best for taller riders.
The official bike weight is 44.8 kg / 98.77 lbs, so this is not a lightweight machine. It is not impossible to move around, but it is still a big 26-inch fat-tire e-bike with a large battery, rear rack, and full suspension.
On pavement, the ride feels smooth and stable. The bike tracks straight, feels planted at speed, and has no sketchy wobble in the handlebars. That is a big deal on a bike that can approach 40 mph.
Off-road, it is more of a mixed bag. The front suspension feels soft and useful, and the rear suspension helps on larger bumps, but it does not love constant small trail chatter. On rough grass and uneven terrain, the ride gets bumpy pretty quickly. This is not a dirt bike, and it does not feel like one.
The brakes are a highlight. Hikeep lists front and rear hydraulic disc brakes with 203mm rotors, and the bike had plenty of stopping power for the speed and wheel size. Big 26-inch fat tires are not easy to slow down, so strong brakes matter here.
Other Unique Features
The full twist throttle is one of my favorite details on this bike. Most regular fat-tire e-bikes use thumb throttles or half-twist throttles, but the 26M gets a full twist setup that feels more natural and more fun.
The app is also included, although it is pretty basic. It shows battery percentage, odometer information, allows ride tracking, and can lock or unlock the bike. It is not the deepest app ever, but it is still nice to have.

The styling deserves a mention too. The green paint with the matching green wheels is wild, but in a good way. It gives the bike a unique look without turning it into a fake e-moto. Hikeep also offers the 26M in black.
Negatives
The biggest downside is low-speed climbing. Hikeep claims 220 N·m of torque, but the bike did not feel like a monster on steep off-road hills. It struggled more than expected and needed some help/pedaling on the hill test.
The speedometer is also optimistic. During the top speed run, the display read about 40 mph, while GPS was closer to 37–38 mph. That is still fast, but the onboard display should be more accurate.
The suspension is another mixed point. It feels good on pavement and bigger bumps, but rough off-road chatter exposes its limits. It is full suspension, but not full-on trail bike suspension.
There were also a couple small quality-control annoyances on the test unit: a missing bolt on the headlight and a small chip from shipping. Neither one ruins the bike, but both are worth mentioning.
The bike also does not have turn signals, which would have been nice given how fast it can go.

Final Thoughts
The Hikeep 26M surprised me. At first, it looked like a big green fat-tire mountain bike with some flashy paint. After riding it, the speed and stability stood out way more than expected.
This is not the best hill climber, and it is not a true off-road beast. But as a fast, stable, heavy-duty fat-tire e-bike with a big battery, strong brakes, and a huge payload rating, it makes a lot of sense.
The 26M feels best as a high-speed road and path cruiser for bigger riders who want a regular bike shape without giving up performance. It looks more “normal” than a moped-style bike, but it still has enough speed to keep things interesting.
For anyone wanting a fast 26-inch fat-tire e-bike with real range, a comfortable pedaling position, and a wild green paint job, the Hikeep 26M is absolutely worth a look.
